What the ...

...heck. Ok, so this should not really come as a surprise, but the Associated Press has just released a survey finding that swearing is on the rise. This is surely the result of people reading less, and thus being deprived of a suitable fountain of vocabulary to pull from to express the basic forms of human feeling: anger, amazement, angst, joy, grief. And then there are those who swear for no reason at all. What is up with that?

Hello Velvet Rocks...
>the people really read very little. This is the real cause to have little culture in its vocabulary...to read must be more important in the life of the people...

I so agree.. It's not a north american thing. According to my site I get it from all over the world. People with low vocabulary, pathetic insults, and disgusting pride. So they swear, they think they are all that and hurt other people, and little did they know they are publically humiliating themselves and proving that they are uneducated people with nothing better to do!

Well, I don't know if I am relieved or appalled that it is not merely a North American thing...this means nowhere is safe! Oh well! :(
